Oink!

I started out well today on the food front:

breakfast:
  • piece of chicken
  • green and yellow beans with baby carrots
  • coffee (yes with sugar)

lunch:

  • piece of chicken
  • green and yellow beans with baby carrots (yes, leftover dinner from yesterday. Waste not, want not!)
  • mashed potatoes
  • coffee
  • water

then came dinner:

  • 3 (yes 3) sirlion burgers with buns
  • tea
  • pepsi
  • cadbury mini-eggs

I am so full I could vomit! I don't understand why I am binging like this on a regular basis. Like geeze! 3 burgers?

Exercise is still to be determined if I can get of my expanding arse and DO something!

Burger!!

Today I am feeling much better and ended up going to the city with my son. Didn't eat well while there but after crackers for 3 days, I needed something substantial. So:
breakfast:
  • leftover steak from dinner

lunch:

  • Denny's bacon cheddar burger with fries (ouch!!!)
  • coke

Crackers for breakfast.

I am still sick today so all I have eaten is some crackers. I have also sipped on some coke because amazingly, coke helps to settle my stomach. Ginger ale has never worked. I have actually throw up after having ginger ale.

Last night I felt a little better and nibbles on some whole wheat spaghetti. That seemed fine but I don't think it was a good idea as I still feel ill today. I hope tomorrow is better as I miss my exercise time.

Not so well

My food intake has been insane! Pizza, pizza and more pizza. Coke, coke and more coke. Won't even bother to put it down here as I am sure you get the picture. As for exercise? What's that?

Today's breakfast was scrambled eggs, cheese and coffee.

Lunch and dinnner: crackers as I am really not feeling well. Nausea and migraine, dizzyness. So much for primal eating and exercise today!

Flop food!

Due to my flop with the primal way of eating here is a sample of what I have been eating:
breakfast:
  • mushroom soup (leftover from dinner) with 2 pieces white toast.
  • much coffee with even more sugar

lunch:

  • 3 pieces of pizza
  • 2 cans of coke

snack:

  • potato chips
  • coke

dinner:

  • 2 pieces pizza
  • more chips
  • more coke

wow, what a disaster, what a mess! I really need to get back on track. And back on my treadmill. I will update if I manage to get my ass up and running!

No better today

Uuhhummm.....
Breakfast/lunch (missed breakfast):
  • Another donair(oh man) from subshop
  • cokemsn smileys

Lunch/dinner

  • potato chipsrolleye smileys
  • shrimp (this at least is primal)
  • noodle soup

No exercise again as it is now too late and I once again spent the afternoon playing Mario Kart. (hey, I spent 3 months looking for a copy and accidently found one yesterday. what can I say?)

busy=junk eating

I had a day off today but, I really wasn't a day off as so much running around had to be done. That meant I had no time to be home to have primal meals.
Breakfast was:
  • BLT sub from subway (6 inch)
  • can of v-8 juice

Still healthy stuff but I REALLY need to stay away from the breads.

Lunch was:

  • donair from sub shop (pita bread + probably very high in cals)

Dinner:

  • 2 burgers with buns(ouch) + potato chips(double ouch) + 2 cans coke (triple ouch)

No exercise as I was too busy playing Mario Kart with my youngest daughter. Very addicting! All in all, very bad ME!

Sore but I like it!

I am a little sore today, from the yoga yeaterday I think. It was nice to do though and I think I will try to keep it up. When I feel mildly sore like today, I like it. It makes me feel as if I had a challenging workout and gaining in progress. Tina, from Carrots 'n' cake, has started a 30 day yoga challenge. I am late, and won't have time to do yoga everyday but, I think I might try to incorporate 3 or 4 sessions in a week and see what it does for me.

So far so good on the eating plan. Breakfast:

  • scrambled eggs
  • chunk of cheese
  • coffee with little sugar

Lunch

  • berry smoothie (my snack turned out to be lunch. maybe lunch will be my snack. LOL)

Either extra late lunch or lunch turned snack; take your pick!

  • two pieces left over skinless chicken from yesterday
  • bowl of mixed salad
  • poppy seed muffin (yeah, I know its not primal but another baked batch by my youngest all on her own. I need to support her ya know!)

Exercise: c25k week 2 done twice for a kick ass hour long workout! (work off the muffin I ate for sure!)

Dinner

  • broiled cod? with cumin and paprika and lemon juice
  • mixed salad with olive oil/lemon juice/salt/pepper dressing (yumm!)

edit: change in dinner. had the salad and added cranberries and cheese and sausages instead of fish. mostly because I was to lazy to dig in the freezer for the fish! LOL.

Light on the frustration binge please!

I am furious! Just furious with my 17 year old daughter. She apparently thinks she is such an adult and can do whatever she wants. Unfortunately, this frustration and anger makes me want to run to the fridge for whatever I can cram down my throat at mach 9 speed. So breakfast consisted of:
  • 2 eggs
  • leftover roasted brussel sprouts
  • piece of cheese
  • coffee with less sugar than usual (yuck)

Wow, did you think I binged? Almost. But those brussel sprouts looked so good and healthy and I actually LIKE healthy food, so that stopped me and I was able to get under control.

Lunch will be:

  • nice big bowl of salad with tuna and some cheese for the fat to help me from being hungry an hour later.
  • some kiwi
  • tea with splenda

for dinner I would like to find a delicious chicken thigh recipe that's very low on carbs. I prefer my carbs come from my vegs and fruits. Anyone have a good recipe?

For my exercise I did 30 mins of cardio from "my fitness coach" for my wii. I was fun. I enjoy doing my wii exercise games for some cross-training. Then I followed the cardio with a 30 min session of yoga from the same game. I haven't done yoga in years and it was fun but tough.

Start over?

I am going to try a new start today with primal eating. Eating similar to this years ago really worked for me and I am sure the primal way of eating will too. So for today:

breakfast:

  • banana berry smoothie with blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, ice and milk.

Now I am off to do my workout before I hit that lazy mode. Will be back to update.

okay, now for lunch:

  • about 3 oz of leftover steak
  • grapes
  • tea with honey

dinner was:

  • mixed salad with tuna
  • roasted brussel sprouts with parmesan cheese
  • tea with honey

I felt really hungry a few hours later so had a handful of trailmix for snack. (peanuts, cashews, almonds, raisins and m&m's(only had a couple)) and a half cup of coffee.

exercise for the day consisted of doing another c25k workout week 2. Wow was it tough. I think I may have to do that one for an extra week until it isn't quite so tough. It is 6 segments of running for 90 sec then walking for 2 mins. Doesn't sound so bad does it? Well, it just about killed me today.

Monday, March 9, 2009

aarrgghh.....

So much for eating the primal way...

breakfast was:
  • 1/2 apple muffin
  • chunk of cheese
  • coffee with LOTS of sugar

lunch was:

  • tuna sandwich on WHITE bread (yuck)
  • cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 haystack cookies

and dinner:

  • grilled steak (at least this was primal!)
  • mixed vegs (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, primal also)
  • french fries (geesh)

a..hemm.. potato chips, and a coke, and more coffee with LOTS of sugar.

Total sabotage!!!

No exercise tonight. Must make up for this tomorrow!

Primal eating?

Mark, at 'Mark's Daily Apple' has a wonderful eating plan called 'The Primal Blueprint eating plan'. I have decided to give it a try. It has been difficult to get started (already had trouble this morning..LOL) but it's still worth giving a try. I actually started the primal eating plan last week and didn't do to bad. So for breakfast:

  • lean beef burger (had it on bun but will ignore)
  • tomato, onion
  • coffee with small amount of sugar (must wean myself from the sugar in the coffee)

For lunch:

  • Banana, berry smoothie with ice and milk
  • lean beef burger (just the patty this time!)

For dinner I will have:

  • salad made with romaine lettuce, cukes, tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, and some broccoli with small amount of italian dressing.
  • shredded chicken breast on top of salad

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Wow, what a week. Restarted the couch to 5k running program that I had done last spring and summer to learn to run. Loved it. I was surprised to learn that by the end of the summer, I could actually run 5k. I have very much missed running this fall and winter as a death in my family caused depression to the point of not caring about my own health. But I am back and restarted and this week starting on week 2 on c25k.
  • Did week 1 of c25k
  • starting week 2
